1. Descriptive Text
Descriptive adalah sebuah teks yang berisi tentang penggambaran sebuah obyek secara detail sehingga obyek tersebut nyata. Tujuan dari descriptive adalah memberikan sebuah gambaran detail mengenai seseorang, benda, atau keadaan sehingga seolah-olah nyata bagi para pembaca. Struktur teks descriptive terdiri dari.
Identification : berisi penggambaran umum obyek yang akan dideskripsikan.
Description : berisi penggambaran secara detail mengenai obyek yang dideskripsikan.contoh

2. Narrative Text
Jenis teks dalam Bahasa Inggris selanjutnya adalah narrative. Pernahkah kita membaca cerita dalam sebuah novel? Cerita tersebut masuk dalam jenis narrative. Jadi pengertian dari teks narrative adalah sebuah teks yang berisi cerita dan kisah suatu kejadian yang mengikuti alur waktu penulis. Teks narrative biasanya digunakan sebagai hiburan bagi para pembaca dengan berbagai kejadian seolah-olah kejadian tersebut benar-benar dialami pembaca. Struktur teks narrative adalah sebagai berikut.
Orientation: berisi pengenalan cerita yang akan diangkat biasanya terdapat pengelan tokoh dan latar belakang lainnya.
Complication: berisi inti cerita dari kisah tersebut yang ditandai dengan adanya konflik yang terjadi terhadap tokoh cerita.
Resolution: bagian akhir dari sebuah cerita yang ditandai dengan penyelesaian konflik.
Coda: berisi kesimpulan dari cerita.

Fox and A Cat
One day, a cat and a fox were having a conversation. The fox, who was a conceited creature, boasted how clever she was. “Why, I know at least a hundred tricks to get away from our mutual enemies, the dogs,” she said.
“I know only one trick to get away from dogs,” said the cat. “You should teach me some of yours!”.
“Well, maybe someday, when I have the time, I may teach you a few of the simpler ones”, replied the fox airily.
Just then they heard the barking of a pack of dogs in the distance. The barking grew louder and louder – the dogs were coming in their direction! At once the cat ran to the nearest tree and climbed into its branches, well out of reach of any dog. “This is the trick I told you about, the only one I know”, said the cat. “Which one of your hundred tricks are you going to use?”.
The fox sat silently under the tree, wondering which trick she should use. Before she could make up her mind, the dogs arrived. They fell upon the fox and tore her to pieces.
Moral: A single plan that works is better than a hundred doubtful plans.
3. Report Text
Report merupakan teks yang berisi informasi apa saja yang terjadi dalam sebuah lingkup. Tujuan umum dari teks report adalah memberikan gambaran umum tentang kejadian yang baru saja terjadi melalui pengamatan dan analisis yang sistematis. Struktur dari report adalah sebagai berikut.
General classification: berisi gambaran umum mengenai suatu kejadian.
Description: berisi deskripsi dari kejadian yang ingin disampaikan.
Mobile Phone
A mobile phone (also known as a wireless phone, or cellular telephone) is a very small portable radio telephone.
The mobile phone can be used to communicate over long distances without wires. It works by communicating with a nearby base station (also called a "cell site") which connects it to the main phone network. As the mobile phone moves around, if the mobile phone gets too far away from the cell it is connected to, that cell sends a message to another cell to tell the new cell to take over the call. This is called a "hand off," and the call continues with the new cell the phone is connected to. The hand-off is done so well and carefully that the user will usually never even know that the call was transferred to another cell.
As mobile phones became more popular, they began to cost less money, and more people could afford them. Monthly plans became available for rates as low as US$30 or US$40 a month. Cell phones have become so cheap to own that they have mostly replaced pay phones and phone booths except for urban areas with many people.
4. Recount Text
Teks recount merupakan sebuah bentuk teks yang biasanya digunakan untuk menceritakan kejadian masa lampau. Ciri utama dari teks recount adalah kalimat yang berbentuk lampau atau past tense. Struktur dari recount adalah sebagai berikut.
Orientation: paragraf pembuka yang berisi pengenalan dan latar belakang kejadian.
Events: paragraf berisi kejadian yang pernah dialami oleh subyek.
Reorientation: berisi kesimpulan dari kejadian yang dialami.

My First Time In Yogyakarta
My family and I went to my grandmother’s house in Yogyakarta last month. It was my first trip to this city. We went there two days after my sister’s gradution ceremony in Semarang. We arrived at Yogyakarta at night. We spent a week staying in my grandmother’s house which is 5 minutes away by foot to Malioboro street.
In the first morning, we were still too tired after a long trip from Semarang to Yogyakarta. So we decided to stay at home to recharge our energy. I walk around the neighborhood with my sister just to experience how it is like to be in Yogyakarta. There were too many house, I think, which made the space between a house and the other was so small, even the road was also small that only bicycle and motorcycle can go through.
On the second day, all of us went to Malioboro street. We saw so many merchant with various of product which they claim to be a traditional product of Yogyakarta. I bought some wooden figurine and T-shirt with the word “Yogyakarta” printed on it, while my sister bought some leather handbag. My mom and dad were busy choosing some merchandise to be brought home when we go back.
On the third day, we went to Taman Sari and Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat to see some historical building in Yogyakarta. We took a lot of picture there. We also took some picture of the building so we can check it again at home. We found some place providing Yogya traditional food around the building and we jumped in right away.
We spent the rest of our week in Yogyakarta by visiting some Shopping Malls such as Jogja City Mall, Malioboro Mall, Hartono Mall and Ambarrukmo Plaza. We realized that Yogyakarta turned out to be very warm during the day, that was the reason why we decided to spend more time in air conditioned building like this.
5. Procedure Text
Dilihat dari nama teksnya, dapat kita pastikan bahwa teks procedure berisi teks yang menjelaskan langkah-langkah dan cara untuk melakukan sesuatu dengan benar. Struktur dalam teks procedure terdiri dari.
Aim: berisi pemaparan tujuan dari proses pembuatan sesuatu.
Materials: berisi barang dan benda yang digunakan dalam proses pembuatan.
Steps: berisi proses dan langkah-langkah pembuatan sesuatu.

“How to Insert Sim Card Cellphone”
Cellphone is a modern communication device which connects one to the others by voice, written message and data. However this device can not work until the SIM card is inserted.
When inserting the SIM Card to cellphone, make sure that the cellphone has been switched off and follow the direction bellow :
First of all, press the locking catch and slide the cover then lift it off the phone.
After that, push two catches in the opposite directions and remove the battery.
Next, slide the SIM card carefully into the slot and make sure that the golden connect arson are facing to the connector of the phone.
Then, put the battery and align it until snaps into its place.
Finally, insert the two catches of the back cover corresponding slot in the phone and slide the cover forward button of the phone until locks into place
Don’t forget to switch on the cellphone. Wait until it is ready to use.
